Rancho Arroyo is a mother-daughter farm, located in La Feria, Texas. Our mission is to provide high-quality, free range eggs and other farm bounty to our local farmer's markets.
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people..."
We are farm girls! It all started in a tiny Oregon farm town in 1970 with a huge garden and a love for fresh produce.
Sandy, the mom, grew up in the city, but was taught by her mom to choose quality, local product to freeze and can for future enjoyment.
Julie, the daughter, was born into the farming life and spent most of her growing up years helping with gardening, driving the tractor for her dad's various crop endeavors, as well as raising sheep and swine through 4-H.
Having spent so many years on the farm, we longed for the opportunity to return to the country. Sandy found that her flock provided great therapy for stress and Julie & her husband, Ruben, wanted to see their kids grow up in the rural life. In 2015, we purchased our 37 acre farm in La Feria, Texas.
Part of the farm life is the ability to grow healthy, conscientiously raised eggs and produce for our family, as well as raising quality hay for our animals.
Julie is also a creative force in the kitchen, which has resulted in the creation of Mrs. D's, a line of pickle inspired flavors.
One of the most important aspects of our business is the conscientious care of our animals. Countless hours are spent tending to their health and well-being. Sandy is constantly watching the behavior of the birds, knowing that they cannot tell us when something is wrong. Her small living room often becomes a chicken hospital so that she can keep a closer eye on an ailing bird.
"The righteous care for the needs of their animals..."
We pray that you are blessed by Rancho Arroyo's offerings. Feel free to drop us an email if you have questions or would like us to pray for you!
